High Rollers Canberra at the Grappling Industries Canberra BJJ competition

High Rollers at Grappling Industries Canberra : Another First Place Domination!

Grappling Industries took over Canberra for just the second time, and the High Rollers crew didn’t waste a moment—securing an impressive first place for overall kids team finish on July 27, 2025. The vibe at the venue was genuinely special: buzzing with friendly faces, teammates cheering each other on, and plenty of laughs between matches. Whether it was kids huddled up between rounds offering support, or adults joking nervously before stepping out to compete, the sense of camaraderie and team spirit was everywhere.

There was an unmistakable bond throughout the day—athletes sharing advice on warm-ups, families and friends waving handmade signs, and the coaching team providing reassurance and encouragement from mat to mat. First-time competitors were welcomed with friendly words and tips, while experienced teammates rallied to celebrate every success and console after the hard matches. It wasn’t just about competition; it was about coming together, making memories, and being there for one another.

Once the matches started, High Rollers athletes truly showed their determination, with some pushing through exhaustion and nerves to deliver unforgettable performances. Seeing first and second timers take that leap and face their fears inspired everyone watching. Many bounced back from tough rounds to earn medals, while others powered through challenges like illness and injury—the kind of resilience that says so much about the heart of this club.

But it’s not just about competition results. High Rollers’ achievements are grounded in the day-to-day training environment and the calibre of the coaching team. Our coaches brought endless energy, darting from mat to mat to support and motivate their athletes, backed by a crowd of teammates and families whose cheering made a real difference. This blend of expert guidance and supportive community gives every athlete the confidence to grow, regardless of whether competition is their goal.

While High Rollers fields a strong competition team, many members train just for fun, fitness, and friendship. The team’s results highlight how effective the club’s classes and culture are—progress is shared by everyone, on and off the mats.
